Engy Magdy is the Director of El Khazindar Business Research and Case Center (KCC) at AUC’s School of Business. A top graduate in Business Administration from AUC, where she also earned her MBA, she is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Marketing at Lancaster University, UK. With over two decades of diverse experience in marketing and commerce, Ms. Magdy combines academic excellence with professional expertise. At KCC, she leverages her deep business insights and research acumen to advance academic initiatives and promote impactful case-based learning.

Mr. Hisham El-Khazindar is the co-founder and managing director of Qalaa Holdings (formerly Citadel Capital), a leading investment company in Africa and the Middle East. Before co-founding Qalaa Holdings, El-Khazindar was executive director of investment banking at EFG Hermes and earlier was on secondment to Goldman Sachs in London. He serves on the boards of several leading regional companies, including El Sewedy Electric and Magrabi Retail. He also serves as a fellow of the Aspen Institute’s Middle East Leadership Initiative. El-Khazindar holds a BA in economics from AUC and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Nermeen Shehata is a tenured associate professor of accounting and the director of El-Khazindar Business Research and Case Center (KCC). Shehata has academic experience in a wide range of educational systems including American, British and Egyptian systems. She is a fellow of UK Higher Education Academy (HEA). She was a visiting scholar at Georgia State University, US. In addition, she has been an active corporate governance (CG) researcher throughout these years. She was an associate at Global Governance Services Ltd, UK and a CG researcher at the Egyptian Institute of Directors (EIoD). Shehata is a certified trainer by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) for SME Governance and Women on Boards and in Business Leadership. She is also a certified corporate director by the Egyptian Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA).

Sherif Kamel is a professor of management at the Heikal Department of Management and the dean of the School of Business at The American University in Cairo (AUC). Previously, he served as the university vice president for information management. Before joining the university, he was the director of the Regional Information Technology Institute and managed the training department of the Cabinet of Egypt Information and Decision Support Center. Kamel holds the position of chair of the board of directors of Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business AACSB International and vice chair of the Global Alliance in Management Education (CEMS). He serves on the board of directors of the Central Bank of Egypt, the Global Business Schools Network, Raya Holding for Financial Investments, and Education for Employment Egypt. He is a member of the Egypt-U.S. Business Council, the Egyptian Center for Economic Studies, and the SGH Warsaw School of Economics International Advisory Board. He is a founding member of the Internet Society of Egypt. He served as the 18th president of the board of governors of the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt. Furthermore, he co-chaired the board of stewards of the African Women Entrepreneurship Cooperative. He served on the international board of the Association of MBAs, the Business Graduate Association, and the boards of the Egyptian American Enterprise Fund and the Commercial International Bank. He has authored over 300 academic and business articles and chapters published in IS and management journals and books and edited three books on information technology. He also authored the book titled "Leading Change in Challenging Times: Lessons of Disruption and Innovation from Egypt – Thoughts, Observations, and Reflections" and the NileView article series. Kamel is an Eisenhower Fellow and a Center for Global Enterprise Fellow. He holds a PhD in information systems from the London School of Economics, an MBA, an M.A. in Islamic Art and Architecture, and a B.A. in Business Administration from The American University in Cairo. Research Interest: His teaching and research interests include digital transformation, IT transfer to emerging economies, decision support systems, the digital economy and entrepreneurship.

Michael Goldman is an Associate Dean and Professor of Sport Management at the University of San Francisco. He is a past president of the North American Case Research Association, a board member of the Case Research Association, and has served as the editor-in-chief of Emerald Publishing's Emerging Markets Case Studies collection.

Ahmed Tolba is a marketing professor at The American University in Cairo (AUC) and chair of the Management Department. He was awarded his PhD from George Washington University (GWU) in 2006; his MBA and BSc from AUC in 1997 and 2001, respectively.

Recognized as one of Forbes' Magazine's 100 Power Businesswomen in the Middle East in 2020, 2023 and 2024, Abir Leheta is an accomplished CEO with a proven track record in driving organizational growth and transformation. She is an active civic participant and holds leadership roles in various organizations including co-chair of Advisory Council for Executive Education at AUC, among many.

In his 19 years in P&G, Kareem has worked on every market across the Middle East & Africa. He has been known to transform the business through innovating P&G’s go-to-market in the region. He has a passion to pay back to the community and build the economic ecosystem for the country where he is actively mentoring startups, NGOs and individuals. He is the Industry & Trade committee chair – American Chamber of Commerce and Endeavor mentor.

Dr. Sherine Abbas Helmy has 43 years of professional experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Throughout the years, he was appointed as Chairman of Pharco Corporation, Pharco Impex, Romania Bachelor of Science degree from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Alexandria University. He then obtained an MBA in 1999. In 2012, he received his DBA.

Dr Hakim Meshreki is an Assistant Professor of Marketing and the former academic director of the CEMS master’s in international management at the American University in Cairo. His main research interests are related to international marketing, consumer behavior, branding and entrepreneurship. Hakim holds a PhD degree in marketing from Nottingham University Business School, United Kingdom and MBA from the American University in Cairo.

With more than 20 years in the publishing industry I have a broad and deep background in sales and marketing with direct on the ground experience in Europe, MEA and APAC and across customer segments.

Vicky Lester has been Chief Executive Officer of The Case Centre since 1 July 2022. She oversees The Case Centre's global operations.

Shilpi Banerjee is a fellow at Hult Impact Labs, Hult International Business School, and Ex- Case Center Manager at Asia Case Research Center, The University of Hong Kong. Her research examines the changing roles and responsibilities of business in the global economy and organizational challenges that exists at the intersection of business and society, such as grand challenges, social inequalities, modern slavery, corporate social responsibility, business ethics and sustainability. Shilpi has been engaged in publishing cases since the last 15 years and considers it is a very powerful pedagogical tool. Shilpi is a Ph.D. in Business Management, from the University of London, UK.

Scott is Head of Worcester Business School, a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and Chartered Manager. In 2022, he was awarded the Chartered Management Institute’s Champion of the Year Award. He is author of The Case Study Companion and Learning and Researching with Case Studies, both published by Routledge and has spoken about the case study method in more than 30 countries across the world over the past 25 years.

Marianne is a Professor of Economics at GIBS, focusing on international trade and gender dynamics. As former Director of Research, she collaborated with the GIBS Case Study Hub to launch the first GIBS/Ivey African Case Conference and, with co-authors, won the 2023 EFMD African Business Cases award for "Sasol: Tradeoff Considerations for a Just Transition".

Ayman Ismail is the Abdul Latif Jameel Endowed Chair of Entrepreneurship and associate professor at The American University in Cairo (AUC) School of Business and the founding director of the AUC Venture Lab, which was recognized as a high impact university business incubator in Africa (2014) and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) (2015) by UBI Global. His areas of research and expertise focus on entrepreneurship and venture capital in emerging markets; economic development in the Middle East; industrial strategy; innovation and technology policy; and the political economy of development. He is currently leading a research team to conduct the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) study on Egypt. GEM is the largest global study of entrepreneurship conducted annually to assess the entrepreneurial activity, aspirations and attitudes of individuals across more than 100 countries. He is currently working on designing a number of entrepreneurship education programs in the region and has introduced the first Arabic Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on entrepreneurship in the Arab region. He is also active in executive education in several corporate and open enrollment programs targeting senior executives. Ismail was awarded the Excellence in Teaching Award (2015) and the Excellence in Service Award (2013) by AUC's School of Business. Ismail is a former research fellow at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard Kennedy School of Government. He received his PhD in international economic development from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where his research focused on entrepreneurial finance in the MENA region. He also holds a bachelor's degree in engineering and an MBA from The American University in Cairo, and a master's degree in city planning and geographic information systems from MIT. Ismail has a broad multidisciplinary experience in entrepreneurship, economic development, business strategy, city planning and technology based on professional practice and academic research. He was a co-founder and managing partner at Enovio Consulting, a management and strategy consulting firm operating in the United States and the Middle East. Prior to that, he was a consultant in McKinsey and Company’s Business Technology Office in New York. He has advised senior management in leading fortune 100 companies, fast-growing startups, government agencies, and non-profits on key organization, operations and technology issues. He has also consulted and conducted research for international organizations such as the World Bank, IFC, UNCTAD, USAID, and GIZ, as well as multiple US government agencies. In 2012, Ismail was selected as a Young Global Leader (YGL) by the World Economic Forum (WEF). He is a co-founder and member of the board of directors of Nahdet El-Mahrousa, a leading non-governmental/non-profit organization incubating social entrepreneurs and community initiatives targeting social, economic and cultural development in Egypt. He is also an active endeavor mentor, advising high-impact entrepreneurs and their startup ventures in Egypt. Endeavor is a global non-profit supporting high-impact entrepreneurship as the leading force for sustainable economic development. He is also a co-founder, angel investor and board member of a number of fast-growing startups in mobile payments, logistics, biotechnology, and digital advertising. Ahmed Maged Nofal is an Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship at emlyon Business School. His research, intersecting entrepreneurship & labor economics, is published in the Journal of Business Venturing, Journal of Management, and PLoS One. Ahmed is featured in Forbes, UPI, and is named a top 50 Business School Professor worldwide by Poets & Quants. He holds a PhD from the University of Warwick.

Ayah Hani is currently a Senior Supply Chain Manager in P&G where she manages different businesses across the MEA Region. She has graduated from AUC with a bachelors in Mechanical Engineering and a Business Minor. Throughout her university journey, she was highly involved in extracurriculars, winning the ENGCOMM competition in Canada, and co-founding ICC, the first international case competition in AUC.

Bassem is an expert in the public sector, strategy formulation, and large-scale transformation. Bassem focuses on BCG’s operations in Egypt and has 13+ years of consulting experience advising Middle East (ME) public and private sector organizations in strategy formulation, operating & governance model development, organization & large-scale transformation, digitization, investment due diligence & execution, joint venture (JV) development, and supply chain optimization. He is also an avid publisher of thought leadership on emerging public sector topics. Finally, he is a member of Egypt’s T20 and Cairo Angels network.

Hussein Mohieldin is the CEO of RTG, an EMEA-focused tech group with 300+ employees and double-digit annual growth. With 20+ years in tech, he’s an accomplished entrepreneur and former consultant, holding an M.Sc. from EPFL. He’s also a 2024-25 MIT Foundry Fellow, advancing in tech innovation and entrepreneurship.

Dr. Randa Salamoun is the Founding Director of The Case Hub at OSB, AUB. Dr. Salamoun garnered extensive experience in industry both in information system development and in general management consulting in several industries. Samer Atallah has been an associate professor of economics at the School of Business at The American University in Cairo (AUC) since 2011. He was a visiting scholar at the Center for Democracy, Development and Rule of Law at Stanford University in 2016 and a visiting scholar at the University of Chicago Center in Paris during the winter of 2014. His research interests are in political economy and development economics. His research also covers game theory applications on the political economy of democratization and quantitative analysis of election results. His research has been published in the European Journal of Political Economy, the International Journal of Economic Theory and the Theoretical Economic Letters. His research work in development economics covers intergenerational inequality, informality and quantitative analysis of household surveys. He has earned his PhD and MA in economics from McGill University. The title of his PhD thesis is Essays on Resource-Dependent Economies: Political Economy and Strategic Behavior. He also holds a MSc in engineering from the University of California at Berkeley. He is a research fellow at the Economic Research Forum and a member of the Canadian Economics Association and the Middle East Economic Association.
